
All NGA coaches are USA Gymnastics (USAG) certified, which requires completing the following requirements & training:
- Background check (annually)
- First Aid
- Concussion
- Safety & Response (annually): The foundation for athlete safety and the prevention of abuse that requires mandatory reporting, defines misconduct, and sets boundaries for interaction between coaches & minor athletes.
- USAG Safety & Risk Management (team coaches)
- Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction
- Childhood Development: Pre-school to School-Age
- Coaching with Empathy
- Attend USAG Congress (team coaches, annually)
- Bi-weekly Coach Training (provided by NGA)
NGA pays for all fees and training time associated with these requirements.

Mr. Nasser, Founder/Owner

Nasser Parvinrouh was an Olympic gymnast and competed for Iran in the 1964 Olympics in Japan. At one time, Mr. Nasser was ranked 16th in the world!
Mr. Nasser established Nasser Gymnastics Academy in August 1970. Mr. Nasser taught Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance at Faulkner State Community College, opened a couple of satellite gyms in Baldwin County and Northern Mobile, and then opened his first gym in Mobile in 1982. He built the gym that we’re in now in 2000.
Nasser loves gymnastics and introduced the local community to the great sport. At 81 years old, Mr. Nasser remains young at heart and loves working with our pre-school classes. He also helps to define curriculum and train coaches. We are proud to continue following his teaching methods and traditions today.

Ms. Michelle, Director

Michelle grew up in the gym with her family. She competed to level 5 before becoming a cheerleader at Murphy High School and competing as a part of the first Nasser All-star Cheerleading Squad. She’s coached tumbling, cheer, and all levels of gymnastics fundamentals starting with 18 month olds in mom & me classes all the way through preschool, school-age, teenage, and even adult classes. She’s also coached competitive team levels 1-6 over her 20+ year tenure. She loves coaching compulsory-level competitive gymnastics.

Ms. Alexa, New Enrollment & Outreach Coordinator

As the Enrollment and Outreach Coordinator, Ms. Alexa is your first point of contact for all things regarding your student, classes, clinics, enrollment, merch.... you name it! You can usually find her at the front desk helping kids get to class or answering questions. Sometimes she gets called onto the floor, but she's never too long gone. Coach Mya, Programs Coordinator

Coach Mya has done it all. She’s coached rec, team, tumbling, boys, and cheer at Nasser. She was a Cheer leader and tumbler for 14 years and was a competitive cheerleader for 11 years. She was awarded All-American 3 times at Alabama.

Coach Addison is a competitive gymnast and teaches pre-school gymnastics classes. Her coaching philosophy is to create a learning environment that is positive, respectful, and safe.

Coach Amiah started her gymanstics journey at Nasser as a student and became a state champion at just 6 years old. She loves coaching, especially in a sport she fell in love with as a young kid.

Miss Rose was a Nasser gymnast and has assisted coaching since the summer of 2024. As the youngest on our staff, she is also one of the most mature. She takes great care of her students and always steps in when needed.
